The Common Reed Bunting breeds in different types of wetlands in Norway. This species is classified as near threatened (NT) in the Norwegian Red List. The reason for this is a decline in the population of approx. 27 percent over the last 10 years.

The Common Reed Bunting also shows a decline in recent years at Lista BO, especially on the standardized ringing in autumn. The reeds in the lighthouse area have been drastically reduced. The figures below show updated data from the bird station:
