The Arctic Redpoll is a typical migratory and invasive species that moves to where there is enough seeds. Seed production shows large variations from year to year. This species breeds in northern Norway, especially in Finnmark. Outside the breeding season, the species can be found in other places in the country, but in small numbers.

We consider it a rare species in the bird observatory area, with an average of less than 5 observations per year. The figures below show updated data from the bird station:
