The Yellowhammer is widespread throughout most of the country. The species is on the Norwegian Red List in the category "near endangered" (NT) and the decline is probably due to impacts from agriculture.
It also shows a decline in recent years in the bird station area, especially on the standardized ringing during autumn. The figures below show updated data from the bird station:
