Bird Day at Lista Lighthouse (30.05.2012)
The bird observatory organizes "Bird Day" on Sunday June 3rd at Lista Lighthouse, from 09 till 13. We show bird ringing to the public (NB! weather dependent) and talk about what we do. A professional nature photographer will visit, and give inspiration to young people interested in photo. Bring a camera and get some tips about how to take good photos in nature. The info centre is open from 10 and will have coffee and waffels for sale.

Interesting autumn with owls and large numbers of chiff chaffs (16.11.2011)
All mist nets were taken down on the 15th of November, and this marks the end of autumn season for the standardized mist netting and bird ringing at the observatory. The ringing totals for autumn season ends at 6624 birds distributed over 73 species. Autumn 2011 stands out as a record season for owls. It has also been a good year for raptors, and birds that are normally not caught in the mist nets have been ringed and logged at the observatory. We have also seen an unusual number of chiff chaffs and blue tits this season.

Bird ringing was demonstrated, we had a bird quiz and invited visitors to do bird watching together with knowledgeable ornithologists.
