REPORT October 2015 (06.11.2015)
A total of 1306 birds were ringed during October on the standardized protocol (626 birds less than in 2014). In broad terms the month has been on temperature average and much drier than average, in contrast with September which was much wetter than normal. Compared to all months in 2015 which have resulted in very low numbers on the standardized trapping, October has been one of the best months but still 19% below average.

Bird monitoring at Lista- and Jomfruland B.O. 2014 (03.11.2015)
Lista and Jomfruland Bird Observatory is out with a new report. The annual report "Population monitoring at Jomfruland- and Lista Bird Observatory in 2014 " presents long-term trends from standardised mist-netting for 54 bird species in the whole 25 - year period from 1990-2014. REPORT September 2015 (05.10.2015)
A total of 367 birds were ringed during September on the standardized protocol (1182 birds less than in 2014). In broad terms the month has been warmer and much wetter than average. All months in 2015 have resulted in very low numbers on the standardized trapping and all being below average. September 2015 has had the lowest ringing numbers compared to any other September since the standardized started in 1990.

2015 - All time low for migrating passerines (15.09.2015)
Lista Bird Observatory has been monitoring passerines using standardized catching with the aid of mist-nets for 25 years. We are now halfway through the autumn season, which for the ringing station is from 15th July to 15th November. As the majority of insectivorous passerines have now left Norway, we can make a preliminary conclusion.

Bluethroats breeding in Norway winter in Asia (14.09.2015)
Last week a new study was published carried out by Norwegian, Czech and Swiss scientists. The article's title is "Red-spotted Bluethroats Luscinia s. svecica migrate along the Indo-European flyway: a geolocator study" and has been published at the Bird Study journal.

A total of 444 birds were ringed during August on the standardized protocol (107 birds less than in 2014). In broad terms the month has been warmer and wetter than average. All months in 2015 have resulted with very low numbers on the standardized trapping and being all below average.

REPORT July 2015 (11.08.2015)
In broad terms the month has been much colder, wetter and windier than last year; however as last July was quite atypical it has actually been a more or less average July. A total of 380 birds were ringed during the last two weeks of July on the standardized protocol (334 birds less than in 2014).
